A look at a business with exposure to multiple sectors.
There has not been a flood of new listings in the renewable energy space but Verditek is an exception to this trend. Verditek raised £2.75 million this year, and is led by a mixture of energy and banking veterans.
The company is steered by Theo Chapman, who previously worked on the development of biofuel technology in the waste industry.
The chairman of the team is Geoffrey Nesbitt, the chief technology officer of oilfield services heavyweight Petrofac. Meanwhile the non executive team includes Jose Luis del Valle, a veteran of the renewable energy industry.
Verditek is comprised of three businesses. The first is Greenflex Energy, headquartered in tiny San Marino. It is a manufacturer of solar roofs for both the residential and business markets.
Another company under its umbrella is the Hawaii headquartered carbon capture and storage specialist Westec Environmental Solutions.
The third part of Verditek is an unusual proposition, BBR Filtration. This concern specialises in helping to remove the odours from wastewater projects.
Verditek is a relatively small outfit at an early stage of its life as a listed business. The mix of technologies under its portfolio should bode well for its future prospects.
